Life Journey Doulas is an exclusive doula agency in South Africa, and our mission is to provide unique and customizable doula services to growing families across Johannesburg, Pretoria and other parts of Gauteng. We have found that the needs of each family are unique and a one-size-fits-all approach to serving those families, does not provide the personallized support that they need through Pregnancy, Birth and the Postpartum period.

We have a team of doulas available from all walks of life ready to guide and support you through life's big events. Contact Us today and we will help you find the doula that will best support you through this wonderfully challenging and exciting time in your life.

Steph Nel

Steph Nel is the owner and manager of Life Journey Doulas. She was also recently made the Executive Director of The Doulas of South Africa. Her passion for doula work extends beyond helping new parents and into working with doulas to build their business to further the profession.

"I started my adult life studying Drama at the Tshwane University of Technology where I met my partner. I have been everything from a sales person to a drama and dance teacher but really found my calling when I did the WOMBS Birth Doula course.

I started Packs of Dignity after seeing the women at the Hillbrow MOU who too often have nothing for themselves (or their newborns) for their birth experience. I felt I needed to do what I could to help them have a dignified birth.

I have also completed the NCOT Perinatal Bereavement Course which completely changed my outlook on life and how to handle people( I recommend this course to everyone, not just birth workers, it is a real eye opener).

I currently live in Centurion but work all across Gauteng as a doula.  I am open-minded, loyal and always willing to help. I am mom to 1 human, 4 dogs and 1 cat and I love a good pun, healthy debate  and to write."
